Seychelles flora and fauna

The beauty of Seychelles is due to its naturally distributed flora and fauna in a sanctuary which was untouched for many centuries
The beauty of Seychelles is due to its naturally distributed flora and fauna in a sanctuary which was untouched for many centuries. Therefore, this became a unique and rare place for various plants and animals. Some of the plants and animals are so unique that they could not be found anywhere else. These islands are loved by plenty of people worldwide who have a great time. The Seychelles islands have eighty-one unique species of some plant life that are not found anywhere else in the globe. People from all over the world love to come here and enjoy their vacation and have a good time. There are lots of amazing places to visit in this region.

One of the special species found in Seychelles, is the Coco de-Mer which is a coconut plant. This is the largest coconut and the biggest seed in the world. The taste of this fruit is delicious and unique. This coconut is grown on Praslin, a primeval forest of Vallee de Mai situated at the heart of the island. Another unique flora in the island of Seychelles is Bois Meduse, which was rediscovered in the year 1970.

The fragrant vanilla orchid is also cultivated on the island. There are thirteen pairs of the rare Paradise Fly Catchers on the island of La Dique giving a splendid look. Unique black parrots are found on the island of Praslin and the Magpie Robin is found on Fregate Island. Bird Island is home for over a million sooty terns. Bush Warbler is an endangered species. They are preserved and protected on Cousin Island. Various other rare species like Cave Swift, Scops Owl, and the kestrel along with the characteristic Blue Pigeon are found in many of the Seychelles islands. There is great effort to preserve and protect the beauty of the nature of the Seychelles.
